Earth Day and Get to Know Your Wild Neighbors Event
What better way to spend Earth Day than at the world’s largest aquarium? Georgia Aquarium invites you to join us as we celebrate Earth Day weekend, April 21-22, 2012. On April 21, we will celebrate with a launch event for Get To Know Your Wild Neighbors. On April 22, we will host activities and events at the Aquarium for Earth Day that will expose visitors to the wonders of the Earth through our aquatic world in an educational and engaging manner. Fun events and giveaways include a green scavenger hunt, interactive storytelling and earth-related arts & crafts. Radio Disney will be onsite April 22 from 1-3 p.m. to help us celebrate this important day!

Georgia Aquarium Babies!
We are very excited to announce two new African penguin chicks and baby weedy sea dragons at Georgia Aquarium! The African penguin chicks were born in early January within two weeks of each other and are both healthy and growing quickly. Once their waterproof feathers grow in and they learn to swim, they will be strategically introduced into our penguin colony exhibit for you to visit! You can visit our blog to learn more about their growth and stay up-to-date with their progress.
Georgia Aquarium is also among a small group of aquariums in the U.S. to successfully hatch baby weedy sea dragons! More than 100 baby sea dragons were born off-exhibit, and to date, Georgia Aquarium has the highest newborn survivorship in the U.S. of this protected species.
Last November, Georgia Aquarium announced that our female beluga whale, Maris, was pregnant and expecting her first calf this spring. Check out the Georgia Aquarium blog for an update on Maris' progress and how Georgia Aquarium is preparing for her upcoming delivery.
